Most Komodo liveaboard trips last from 3 to 7 nights, depending on the route and season. Shorter cruises focus on the central and northern parts of the park, while longer itineraries also include the southern area.
Northern Komodo offers clear water, colorful reefs and schooling fish at sites like Castle Rock, Crystal Rock and Cauldron.
Central Komodo includes the iconic Batu Bolong, Manta Point and Mawan, with frequent manta ray sightings.

Most trips start and finish in Labuan Bajo, easily reached by daily flights from Bali or Jakarta. In addition to diving, you’ll enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, and island visits, including hikes with panoramic views and possible encounters with Komodo dragons.
You can dive in Komodo all year round, but the best conditions are between April and November, when the seas are calm and visibility is excellent. From December to March, the north of Komodo is often not accessible due to strong winds and rough seas.
Most liveaboards focus on the central and southern areas, where conditions are more sheltered and manta encounters are frequent. Some boats also relocate seasonally to Raja Ampat during these months.
Most Komodo liveaboards recommend a minimum of Advanced Open Water certification and at least 30–50 logged dives, as some sites have strong currents. There are also routes suitable for less experienced divers, especially in the central area where conditions are calmer. Beginners are welcome on certain trips if accompanied by an instructor or experienced buddy.
Many Komodo liveaboards offer Advanced Open Water or Nitrox courses, perfect for certified divers who want to gain more experience during their trip. These can be completed comfortably on board with qualified instructors.
Open Water courses are not common on liveaboards, although many dive shops in Labuan Bajo offer them and may conduct the training inside the park.
