Description

KLM Sunshine is a traditional Indonesian phinisi offering intimate dive cruises in North Sulawesi backed by more than 15 years of experience in the area. Designed for just ten guests, it provides a relaxed and personal experience to explore some of Indonesia’s most pristine reefs and diverse marine life.

This 30-meter vessel features an air-conditioned indoor lounge, a spacious dining area, an open-air relaxation space, and a sundeck with plenty of seating. The dive deck is well-equipped , and photographers have access to charging stations and a rinse tank for their gear.

KLM Sunshine has five comfortable cabins , with two on the upper deck and three below. Each cabin includes air conditioning and a private bathroom, ensuring a pleasant stay throughout the trip.

The liveaboard follows well-planned itineraries across some of Indonesia’s top dive sites, maintaining a small guest-to-guide ratio. The experienced crew handles all logistics, so guests can fully focus on their dives. Diving nitrox is required for all divers , and certification courses are available.

Trips range from six to fourteen days, covering a variety of underwater landscapes, from steep drop-offs and vibrant coral gardens to macro hotspots filled with fascinating critters. The boat reaches remote and less-visited sites , offering ideal conditions for both wide-angle and macro photography.

KLM Sunshine explores some of Indonesia’s most biodiverse waters: Bunaken ‘s stunning coral walls, Bangka ‘s beautiful reefs, Lembeh Strait’s famous muck diving, the volcanic landscapes of the Sangihe Archipelago , and Halmahera ‘s rich marine ecosystems. Expect encounters with lots of critters and reef fish, sharks, rays, and even some pelagic species.

The trip begins in Pulau Sahaung, accessible from Manado Airport via car and boat, taking approximately 2 hours.

The trip ends in Pulau Saronde, with a boat transfer to the mainland followed by a land transfer to Gorontalo Airport, also taking around 2 hours.

Both airports offer connections to major cities in Indonesia, please contact us for assistance with your travel plans.

Diving is excellent year-round, except in January and February when rough seas prevent the boat from operating.

Yes, there are 2 obligatory extra charges:

-Port fees and fuel surcharge: 250€ / trip

-Nitrox: 100€ / trip

Dive groups are split with a maximum of 4 guests per 1 guide.

Yes, there is dive gear available for rent on board at 21€ / day for a full set.

Yes, Nitrox is available and mandatory for all divers, so a nitrox certification is required. Certification courses can be arranged on board if needed.

Divers must be at least Open Water certified with a minimum of 50 logged dives.
