This Raja Ampat dive safari offers an affordable way to explore the top dive sites of the area, including the Dampier Strait, Piaynemo, and Fam, while staying in local homestays. These five-day trips provide access to all the diversity of the region, making them an excellent alternative to liveaboard diving.
Homestays offer an authentic experience with private huts, shared bathrooms, and communal meals. Locations vary based on weather and dive conditions. Evenings are for relaxing, sharing dive stories, and enjoying the hospitality of the local Papuan community.
Each morning, you’ll board the dive boat fully equipped for the day’s adventures. The boat provides everything needed for diving, including the tanks, gear storage, and shaded seating areas. You’ll spend the day exploring spectacular sites with two or three dives, covering a larger area than if staying on a fixed land base.
Expect stunning reefs, encounters with sharks and manta rays, and large schools of fish. Dive sites range from coral-covered walls teeming with marine life to shallow reefs ideal for spotting macro species. The flexible schedule allows for relaxed surface intervals on beautiful islands, where guests can take in the scenery and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

We meet at Scuba Republic our Base Camp at 12:00 for lunch. If you need a pick-up from the ferry, please let us know in advance.
After lunch, we make sure all the necessary paperwork is in order and set up your dive equipment.
At approximately 14:00 we will depart and head towards our first dive site around Friwen Island.
After our first dive around, we move on to Besir Bay for the night.
Our second day is full of adventure. On our journey to Piaynemo, we snorkeling in jellyfish lake and dive some of the most famous coral reefs in the area.
We spend the night on the nearby island of Fam.
After watching the sunrise over the white, sandy beach of our homestay we set out to explore the Piaynemo islands.
We have 2 dives around the piaynemo island, lush coral gardens and massive aggregations of fish keep us entertained throughout the day. we climb the 355 steps to the iconic viewpoint at Piaynemo.
After we finished climbing in the Piaynemo area we wave goodbye to the spectacular landscape while our Safari boat takes us back to central Raja Ampat.
We sleep in the local village in Arborek island.
After breakfast, we continued our first dive at Manta Point, and we still had 2 more dives around Mansuar Island and Kri Island.
After the third dive of the day, our boat will take us to the homestay on Kri Island.
On our way back to Waigeo, we dive an enchanted jetty and one of the most famous dive sites in Raja Ampat before we return to our Base Camp for lunch.
You will be back in time to catch the 14:00 ferry from Waisai to Sorong.

Yes, the Raja Ampat Marine Park entry fees and a local contribution fee are not included in the tour price. The price is 1.500.000 IDR for the whole tour. This must be paid on site at the end of the trip.
Dive gear is also available to rent if you need at a price of 20$ / day for a full set of equipment.
The trip starts in Scuba Republic beach bungalows in Waisai, with hotel or harbour pick up available at an extra charge.
The trip ends in Waisai harbour on the fifth day around midday, on time to get the 14.00 ferry if necessary.
It's ideal to arrive one day in advance and sleep at Scuba Republic beach bungalows to ensure a relax start the next day.
You can fly into Sorong airport (SOQ), the main gateway to Raja Ampat directly from Jakarta, Bali or Makassar.
From Sorong, you can take a public ferry to Waisai, the capital of Waigeo Island and main village of Raja Ampat. The ferry takes approximately 2 hours and operates daily at 9.00 and 14.00h.
Once you arrive in Waisai, our team will be there to arrange your transfer if you need.
Raja Ampat offers great diving year-round, but the best conditions are from October to April, with less rain and calm seas.

Homestays are based on twin or shared rooms. A private room may be available upon request for an extra charge, please enquire for more details.
Bring lightweight clothing, a cap, sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and insect repellent. If you have dive gear, bring it along. A dry bag and a long-sleeve rash guard are also very useful.

The group size depends on the boat occupancy, but the maximum capacity is10 people, ensuring a comfortable and social experience.
Dive groups are kept to a maximum of 4 divers per guide.
Manta rays are frequently seen in Arborek area and occasionally in other sites, but as with any wildlife, sightings cannot be 100% guaranteed.
Seas are usually calm, though occasional swells may occur. If you're prone to motion sickness, consider bringing medication.
