Most Sulawesi liveaboard trips last somewhere between 7 and 10 nights, exploring the north coast between Bunaken, Bangka and Lembeh. This route showcases the best of the region’s biodiversity and diving variety.

Trips usually start and end in Manado or Bitung, easily reached by daily flights from Jakarta or Bali. Between dives, guests can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking or relaxing on deck, surrounded by North Sulawesi’s volcanic scenery.
You can dive in Sulawesi all year round, but the best conditions are from March to December, when the sea is calm and visibility is excellent. From January to February, the region sees more rain and wind, and most liveaboards (including the Sunshine) pause operations.
During the main season, Bunaken and Bangka offer bright, clear dives, while Lembeh remains great for macro photography throughout the year.
Most liveaboards in Sulawesi welcome divers of all experience levels. Sites around Bunaken and Bangka are suitable for Open Water divers, while Lembeh’s shallow slopes are perfect for photographers and those who prefer relaxed, easy dives.
